About Panchajanya


The Panchajanya is a open source GNU/Linux distrubution developed by students from various places of India. This distrubution aims a providing highest levels of user convenience.

The name "Panchajanya" means the conch(shankam) of Lord Krishna. It indicates the Begining of some good movement. Apart from this meaning we also have one more special meaning for it. That is the Panchajanya Project was started by Guru in 18 April 2007 for 5 main intentions.

  • Creating a High user friendly GNU/Linux System.
  • Reduce the amount spent by indians on foreign properitery softwares.
  • Have high end technologies reach last person in India.
  • Support Techonology innovation for localized problems.
  • Setup an organization for use of Indian talents for growth of Nation.
